15. AI Addendum

This Addendum supplements and forms part of the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions that govern your use of the services and features provided by the Personal School of Development (“PDS”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). This Addendum addresses the use of AI chatbots across PDS’s learning platforms. In this Addendum, “personal information” has the same meaning as in our Privacy Policy.

Personal School of Development uses third-party artificial intelligence (“AI”) from established providers to help our platforms work more efficiently. These services are intended to support users in their learning. Our AI chatbot (the “AI Chatbot”) is embedded across our learning platform and is trained exclusively on PDS course content.

When using PDS’s learning platforms, users will see a floating chat bubble that is intended to be used as a support widget. When you communicate with the AI Chatbot, the contents of your communications may be processed by third-party services. These services operate under contractual safeguards to protect your information. PDS maintains agreements with these third-party providers requiring that all personal information receive confidentiality, security, and data protection measures consistent with our own policies. Where the underlying tool supports it, information is processed on a no-retention basis, meaning it is not stored on the service provider’s systems beyond the minimum amount of time required for the system to complete the task. Where AI processes personal information, we use it only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and only where permitted by applicable law.

Inputs and outputs from the AI Chatbot are not used to train any AI models.

Processing may occur on servers located outside of Canada, including in the United States and Ireland, where it remains protected by comparable contractual safeguards. Where this occurs, personal information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed, and may become accessible by foreign courts, law enforcement, or regulators. Each of our processors maintain policies that govern their handling of personal information on our behalf. We remain responsible for protecting personal information and require our service providers to implement appropriate safeguards.

By using the AI Chatbot and by agreeing to the disclaimer, you agree that you consent to and authorize third-party providers to process your information and generate outputs. When you use or interact with the AI Chatbot, you consent to the collection, use, retention, and disclosure of personal information to the extent necessary to provide services. Do not input sensitive data such as health or financial information into the AI Chatbot.

Disclaimer

AI tools and automated processing are used only to support learning. These AI services are not intended to provide therapy, emotional support, counselling, or advice. The responses provided by any AI tools on our website are educational and do not constitute psychological, therapeutic, medical, legal, or financial advice.

Limitation of Liability and Assumption of Risk

The AI Chatbot and all AI-generated outputs are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, reliability, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. You acknowledge that you use the AI Chatbot at your own risk and that you are solely responsible for how you use, interpret, or rely on its outputs. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PDS, its affiliates, and its service providers will not be liable for any loss, damage, or harm of any kind arising out of or in connection with your use or misuse of the AI Chatbot, your reliance on any output, any inaccurate or incomplete output, your input of sensitive or prohibited information contrary to this Addendum, or any interruption or unavailability of the service. Nothing in this Addendum excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

You may contact us at any time using the details on our Contact page if you have questions about how your information is processed, wish to access or correct your information, or wish to withdraw consent.

We reserve the right to suspend or remove a user’s access to the AI Chatbot if we determine, in our sole discretion, that the user is contravening this Addendum or our Terms & Conditions, or is otherwise using the AI Chatbot inappropriately.
